How does the Dr. Scholl's kiosk work? ›

The Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Orthotics system uses the patented science of Tekscan's pressure sensing technology along with custom developed software and sophisticated algorithms to recommend the best fit for them. The consumer simply takes off their shoes, steps up to the kiosk and onto the Tekscan sensing platform.

What happens if custom orthotics don't work? ›

When prescribed by your podiatrist and used together with other treatments, custom shoe inserts often do provide relief from foot pain. If they don't seem to be working for you or are causing more foot pain, it's time for another call to your podiatrist.

Dr. Scholl's® insoles and orthotics can placed over a shoe's existing insole as long as the shoe is still comfortable and does not feel too tight. Any insole or orthotic that is not full-length should be placed on top of your shoe's existing insole.

Should you wear orthotics all the time? ›

How often you wear them also affects how long they will last. In general, most of our patients with orthotics are instructed to wear them at all times. However, some may only need orthotics for certain shoes or activities, or you may have different pairs of orthotics for different pairs of shoes.
