About You and This Role:

Dow is offering an exciting opportunity for a Equipment Maintenance Engineer at our Freeport, TX location!

In this role, you will provide engineering support to address plant issues that impact production in the short term. You will offer technical expertise, focusing on equipment failures and repair techniques that affect the facility's availability and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
• Develop and maintain maintenance operating discipline.
• Provide technical expertise to plant personnel for troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating equipment design against intended service conditions.
• Ensure work requests include engineering input on repair details and provide technical support for deviations, especially for critical process equipment.
• Document repairs, repair techniques, and equipment-specific training.
• Offer maintainability input to Global Project Methodology activities.
• Support the preventive maintenance coordinator by reviewing spare parts lists for existing equipment.
• Enter quality, service, and product performance data into the reporting system.
• Assist in developing the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.
• Provide engineering input for work packages to ensure standards are followed, particularly during turnaround work on critical equipment.
• Supply equipment reliability and performance data to technical resource networks for input on purchasing requirements, equipment performance evaluation, vendor performance, and modifications.
• Complete EH&S orientation and all required training. Exhibit safe work behaviors and work safely without injury or environmental impact. Fulfill all EH&S requirements of the production and maintenance areas.
• Support Industrial Hygiene and other EH&S work processes, incorporating safety considerations in planning and maintenance. Understand the impact of process chemistry on materials of construction or lubrication.
• Utilize maintenance spending, reliability, and maintenance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes in coordination with leadership. Understand the principles of Long Term Cost of Ownership and troubleshoot maintenance spending with guidance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
• Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights, with training in the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
• Possession of a TWIC card or eligibility to obtain one, as per U.S. Government and Department of Homeland Security policy.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available.
