The Europa League final has come to Irish shores and the capital is awash with red, blue, and black for the occasion.

The Aviva Stadium will play host to a sold-out decider between Italy’s Atalanta and the all-conquering German champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bergamo outfit are looking to claim their first-ever European trophy while Leverkusen are unbeaten all season and are just two wins away from a flawless treble.

Although in terms of population, these are the two smallest cities to contest a European final, the supporters have turned out in Dublin in their droves.

German and Italian fans have been soaking up the atmosphere – along with some beverages – since the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Even Bayer boss Xabi Alonso was seen going for a jog along the Dublin northside quays:

With multiple fan zones in place, the fans made the most of their big day out in Dublin.
