Sad to see Smith Rowe leaving Arsenal, but a player of that quality needs game time, which we couldn’t offer. Hope Arsenal go for a striker now. Not overly keen on Osimhen as I’d rather have someone with Premier League experience for that money. Ferguson, Solanke, Isak would be preferable in my eyes.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reiterated that there are currently no offers on the table for Kevin de Bruyne.

“He was here before I arrived. He is the eldest (longest serving) player here.
“It happened with David [Silva] for example and other players, he has the credit to decide his future himself.
“What he has done for us is massive so he can decide. The information I have now is he will stay.”

Riccardo Calafiori looks an excellent option [for Arsenal]. Physically strong, a good left foot and a bit of pace. Sad to lose Emile Smith Rowe but it's right for him to get game time. He'll be great at Fulham.

Great transfer business by Arsenal. Emile Smith Rowe is loved but really needs regular playing time to improve. He'll get that at Fulham. Riccardo Calafiori is an exceptional talent and improves the squad immensely. All we need now is a striker!

'I think it is important that the rules have teeth'published at 08:58 30 July

Liverpool
A final word from Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan on how the club has worked hard to comply with financial rules and why the Premier League needs to make sure clubs that break them are held to account:
"If yougo back to 2010 when the Fenway Sports Group came in [at Liverpool], it was something that John W Henry said atthe time that we were supportive of the financial fair play (FFP) rules.
"Thoserules have continued to evolve and we are going through a reboot of the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) to squad cost controls that mirror what Uefa has in place.
"But I wouldsay from our standpoint, we have always felt the goal is for the club to besustainable. It putspressure on myself and team to run the club as well as we can and put revenueinto the football club.
"There are financial regulations in place and we havealways followed those rules. I think it is important that the rules have teethand if clubs fall foul of that then the Premier League has a process to gothrough.
"We'veseen that over the last year or so. And there has been a lot of conversationabout new rules coming in so that will be a change, but we are supportive ofthose rules and being sustainable. That's our goal."

"He was very clear aboutleaving the club in a better place than where he found it and I think he hasdone that.
"The timehe gave us by making the announcement when he did, gave us an opportunity to gothrough a proper process.
"[New manager] Arne [Slot] joining has created a new opportunity and football structure and era goingforward. It provided an opportunity for a reboot or reset and maybe to look athow things operate going forward.
"Thereis new energy and vision.
"We wantto win the league, ultimately, and to win trophies, so with Michael [Edwards'] leadership andthe new football structure is something we are excited about."

Calafiori 'ready to pack bags' after first Arsenal talkpublished at 08:10 30 July
08:10 30 July
New Arsenal signing Riccardo Calafiori started his career as a left-back who could play further forward, but mostly featured as a central defender under Bologna boss Thiago Motta, who has left for Juventus this summer.
The 22-year-old Italy defender could compete with centre-back Gabriel or left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko for a place at Arsenal, who are thought to see him as an option for both positions.
"I can play in different positions, I don't care where but I just want to play," said Calafiori after completing a move that could rise to £42m with add-ons.
"I was here in January to watch Arsenal versus Crystal Palace. As soon as I am really fit, I hope to help the team."
Calafiori quickly joined his team-mates in Philadelphia on Monday before their pre-season match against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Asked what impressed him most about his new signing, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said it was the Italian's willingness to join the Gunners amid potential competition from other clubs, which are thought to have included Chelsea and Juventus.
"It was great when I spoke to him one or two times and that was when I didn’t know if we could do it or not," he said at Philadelphia’s Union’s Subaru Park.
"He was adamant - 'Let me know when you are ready, my bags are ready and I just want to come to Arsenal'. Those were his words."
Calafiori 'will make us stronger as we push to win trophies' - Artetapublished at 07:57 30 July
07:57 30 July
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are hoping to challenge for a first Premier League title in 21 years after back-to-back second-place finishes.
The Spaniard described Riccardo Calafiori as a "great signing" to help them "push for major trophies".
"Riccardo is a big personality and character, with specific skills which will make us stronger as we push to win major trophies," he said.
"He has already shown great development in recent seasons with his performances for both Bologna and Italy, with his progression and development in the past year being really impressive.
"We're looking forward to working with Riccardo, integrating him into the squad, and supporting him in the years to come."
'Best project I could have to improve as a player'published at 07:47 30 July
07:47 30 July
Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori says new club Arsenal represent the "best project" for him to "improve as a player".
The 22-year-old centre-back, who can also play at left-back or on the wing, completed a move from Bologna on Monday in a deal that could rise to £42m.
"I'm really happy to be here," he said after joining up with his new team-mates on their US tour. "I waited a lot. I hope we are going to do something great this season.
"I spoke for almost two months with the coach and [sporting director] Edu.
"It was really tough [that the negotiations took a while]. But I am here and need to keep improving day by day in training. I was really convinced to come here. For me, it is the best project that I could have to improve as a player.
"There were other clubs but I don't care any more. I am here and I want to win trophies. This is the best project because the team is young and can win trophies. My mentality is to win."
