Kingdom Hearts: Every Main Character's Age, Height, And Weapon (2024)

Kingdom Hearts is a beloved series that follows the adventures of Sora, the Keyblade wielder, as he travels to different Disney worlds along with Donald and Goofy to fend off the various forms of darkness. Since the series' debut, many more characters have joined the main cast.

Each character tends to have their own distinct weapon that they use, whether it's a specific kind of Keyblade or another type of weapon. However, some of the ages and heights of the characters are relatively unknown. Here are the ages and possible heights of the main characters in the Kingdom Hearts series, as well as their main weapon of choice.

Whether you're revisiting KH or jumping into the series for the first time on Steam, you might be curious about how old each of the characters are in each game, so we've made sure the information is up to date.

15 Marluxia / Lauriam

• Age: Mid 20s~ (Actual age unknown)
• Height: Around 6'2"
• Weapon: Graceful Dahlia Scythe

Marluxia is first introduced in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, as a member of Organization 13 antagonizing Sora in Castle Oblivion. He's one of the tallest members of the Organization, and though his height isn't canonically confirmed, he is likely to be at least six feet tall.

His age is also a mystery, since he appears in Kingdom Hearts: Union X as Lauriam, many years before he becomes the Nobody Marluxia. However, he is likely in his mid or late 20s. Marluxia's signature weapon is the Graceful Dahlia — a scythe with a pink blade, matching both his pink hair and the pink petals he is typically associated with.

14 Larxene / Elrena

• Age: Early 20s (Actual age unknown)
• Height: Around 5'10"
• Weapon: Foudre (Knives)

Larxene is the only female member of Organization 13 (excluding Xion), and she appears to be slightly younger than the other main members, most likely being in her early 20s. Similar to Marluxia, her actual age is unknown as she is the Nobody of Elrena, who existed in the Age of Fairytales.

Larxene is also a little shorter than the likes of Marluxia and Axel, though her actual height is not confirmed. She is most likely between 5'9" and 6'. She wields the Foudre, which is a pair of yellow and blue knives, reflecting the fact that she uses lightning in her attacks.

13 Master Xehanort

• Age: Mid 80s
• Height: 5'10-11"
• Weapon: No Name Keyblade / The X-Blade

Though he didn't appear physically in the series until Birth by Sleep, Master Xehanort is the main mastermind behind the Dark Seeker saga — the entire series up until the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. Master Xehanort's youth is explored in the mobile game Dark Road, revealing that he has lived for a long time. In fact, by the time you meet him in BBS, he's already into his 70s.

With ten years passing between BBS and KH3, that places Xehanort in his 80s by the end of the saga. He's one of the taller characters in the cast, just shy of six feet, and he mainly wields the No Name Keyblade, also known as the Gazing Eye. Briefly, at the end of KH3, he also possesses the almighty X-Blade.

12 Axel / Lea

• Age: Mid-20s
• Height: Around 6'2"
• Weapon: Chakrams / Bond Of Blaze Keyblade

A former member of Organization 13, Axel doesn't have a canon age, though it can be inferred that he's around ten years older than Roxas, which would place him in his mid-20s. Axel is much taller than his best friends Roxas and Xion, as well as most of the cast — it's estimated that he's around 6'2".

Axel has a rather unique weapon too. He wields dual Chakrams and uses pyrokinesis to unleash fearsome fire-based attacks. After leaving the Organization, Axel begins Keyblade training, and gains the Bond of Blaze Keyblade instead.

11 Xion

• Age: 15-16
• Height: 5'0-1"
• Weapon: Kingdom Key Keyblade

Though she was originally made to be the Organization's puppet and a copy of Sora, Xion forged her own path and her own identity. Technically, like the other Nobodies, she was born recently, but she is mentally and physically around 15-16 in KH3. As her physical appearance was taken from Sora's memories of Kairi, she is around the same height as her — between 5'0" and 5'1".

Similarly, she wields the same Kingdom Key Keyblade as Sora as a result of her connection to him: she was designed to copy Sora's ability to use the Keyblade, so it only makes sense that they share the same weapon.

10 Roxas

• Age: 15-16
• Height: 5'3"
• Weapon: Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades

Physically, Roxas is the same age as Sora, approximately 15-16 years old. However, as he came into being as Sora's Nobody when Sora became a Heartless in KH1, Roxas is actually around two to three years old. Roxas is the same height as Sora as well, approximately 160 cm or 5'3".

By the end of 358/2 Days, Roxas is able to dual-wield two Keyblades: Oathkeeper and Oblivion. These two Keyblades are also symbolic of Roxas' connection to Sora, as the Keyblades represent Sora's relationships with Kairi and Riku respectively.

9 Terra

• Age: 20s
• Height: 5'11" - 6'0"
• Weapon: Earthshaker Keyblade

Terra is the oldest of the Wayfinder trio and is in his early to mid 20s in BBS, which makes him in his 30s in KH3; however, he hasn't aged physically. In terms of height, Terra is between 5'11 and 6'0" tall — though he's not towering over anyone in Organization 13 any time soon, he is one of the tallest Keyblade wielders.

He uses the Earthshaker Keyblade, which is particularly fitting for his name, as 'terra' means 'earth' in Latin. Terra passes on the power to wield the Keyblade to Riku, who shares a similar name — 'Riku' means 'land'.

8 Ventus

• Age: 16 (Actual age unknown)
• Height: 5'3"
• Weapon: Wayward Wind Keyblade

As the youngest of the main characters in BBS, Ventus was approximately 16 — the same approximate age as Sora during the events of Kingdom Hearts 3. Ventus' actual age is unknown, since he appears in Kingdom Hearts: Union X in the Age of Fairytales, many years before the present. However, he doesn't have any memories of this time and seems to be unaware that he existed then. He is around the same height as Sora, at 160 cm or 5'3.

Ventus wields the Wayward Wind Keyblade, and its design is rather unique compared to others in the series. Usually, the handle and teeth of the Keyblade are on different sides of the weapon, but they're together on the Wayward Wind. As a result, Ventus holds the Keyblade behind him when he uses it.

7 Aqua

• Age: 18-20
• Height: 5'9"
• Weapon: Rainfell Keyblade

Aqua is younger than Terra but older than Ventus, and is physically around 18-20 years old. She spent ten years in the Realm of Darkness between the end of BBS and KH3, making her in her late 20s in terms of chronology, even if she doesn't appear to have aged. She is around 5'9" in height, placing her among the taller Keyblade wielders.

In terms of weapons, Aqua uses the Rainfell Keyblade, which continues the water theme associated with her color scheme and name. The Keyblade itself is also balanced when it comes to Strength and Magic stats, symbolizing how she is often the balance between Terra and Ventus in the Wayfinder trio.

6 King Mickey

• Age: Unknown
• Height: 2'3"
• Weapon: Kingdom Key D Keyblade

There is very little to indicate King Mickey's age in Kingdom Hearts. Disney has said that he is meant to resemble "an average young boy of no particular age." However, King Mickey acts more like a mentor figure than a "young boy" in the series, and he is the king of his world, so it's more likely that he is older than the main human characters.

While Mickey's height isn't officially known, the community has estimated it to be around 2'3", based on a photo of him standing next to the 5'10" Walt Disney. In the games, Mickey wields the Kingdom Key D Keyblade, which is physically similar to the Kingdom Key Keyblade, with some slight differences.

5 Donald

• Age: Unknown
• Height: 3'0"
• Weapon: Mage's Staff

Donald Duck has been one of the most recognizable characters in the entire Disney line up, ever since his first appearance in The Wise Little Hens in 1934. This would mean he is roughly 87 years old; however, this has no bearing on his age in Kingdom Hearts. He is likely a similar age to King Mickey.

Donald is taller than Mickey, but still rather short at 3'0". As Donald mostly uses magic to help Sora throughout his adventures, it makes sense that his default weapon is the Mage's Staff, which bears a design similar to that of the classic Final Fantasy Black Mage.

4 Goofy

• Age: Unknown
• Height: 5'10"
• Weapon: Knight's Shield

Goofy is the other main Disney character in the Kingdom Hearts series. Similar to King Mickey and Donald, there isn't much to suggest Goofy's age, but he acts as a mentor figure for Sora, so it can be assumed that he's fairly older than him. Compared to Sora and Donald, he is significantly taller, meaning could be around 5'10", although that's a speculative figure.

Weapon-wise, Goofy is unique in the fact that he is the only character who doesn't use a true 'weapon' — he opts for more defensive techniques that he can use with his Knight's Shield.

3 Riku

• Age: 16-17
• Height: 5'10"
• Weapon: Soul Eater / Way To The Dawn / Braveheart Keyblades

Riku is one of Sora's closest childhood friends. At roughly a year older, this would put Riku at approximately 16-17 years old in KH3. He's a fair bit taller than Sora, and based on pixel data, it's speculated that he is around 5'10".

Riku has wielded a number of significant weapons throughout the series, beginning with Soul Eater, which transforms into Way to the Dawn once Riku learns to balance his darkness. However, Way to the Dawn snaps in half when Riku takes on hordes of Heartless in the Realm of Darkness, and he now wields the Braveheart Keyblade instead.

2 Kairi

• Age: 15-16
• Height: 5'1"
• Weapon: Destiny's Embrace Keyblade

Kairi is around the same age as Sora, at approximately 15-16 years old. Based on the pixel data shown in KH3, she is about an inch shorter than Sora. This would likely make her around 5'1". In the beginning of the series, Kairi took a backseat from fighting, and as a result, didn't have a weapon to her name.

However, in KH2, Riku gives her the Destiny's Embrace Keyblade to help fend off the masses of Heartless attacking Sora. The Keyblade's design is heavily symbolic of Kairi's character, with the sea and shore of the Destiny Islands represented on the weapon's handle, and the paopu keychain dangling from the hilt.

1 Sora

• Age: 15-16
• Height: 5'2"
• Weapon: Kingdom Key Keyblade

The main protagonist of the series, Sora started out his adventure as a young teenager, around 14 years old. By the time KH3 takes place, it's estimated that two years have passed since KH1, making him somewhere between 15-16 years old. Canonically, some interviews put his height at around 160 cm, or 5'2.

Sora's weapon is, of course, the iconic Kingdom Key Keyblade, which every other Keyblade takes its design from. Throughout the games, you can attach keychains to change its appearance, but the original has a simple, timeless design.
