This represents gains of over 1,400% in just over three months of trading. Not only that, but this price point secured a market capitalization of over $3 billion.

In addition, Starknet also supports cost-effective transactions. This will motivate ERC20 projects to leverage STARK, making their ecosystems viable for day-to-day transacting.

Starknet’s native crypto asset, STRK, was launched in February 2024. It currently has a market capitalization of nearly $1.4 billion, which is a fraction of other leading layer 2 projects. Nonetheless, STRK became one of the new Binance listings on February 20th. STRK is also listed on other tier-one exchanges, including Coinbase, Kraken, and OKX.

For example, there were four new Binance listings in February 2024—Dymension, Pyth, Ronin, and Starknet. So far in March 2024, there have also been four new listings. Additionally, I found that Binance is happy to list a wide range of project types. For instance, it has recently listed a wave of trending meme coins, including Dog Wif Hat and BOOK OF MEME.

It has also listed a selection of layer 2 protocols, including Starknet and Metis. This makes it challenging to predict which coins will be listed on Binance next. Nonetheless, I also found that new listings can only be announced by Binance. If you come across a project claiming to have been listed, but it’s not on the Binance listing page, it’s misinformation.

Should I Invest in New Upcoming Binance Listings?

I’ll now explore if upcoming Binance listings are worth investing in 2024.

Most Used Crypto Exchange Globally

Crypto projects want their coins listed on Binance for the exposure it provides. After all, Binance has more active users than any other crypto exchange. Currently, Binance claims to have over 182 million users.

What’s more, CoinMarketCap notes that Binance gets over 19 million weekly visits. In contrast, Coinbase gets just 108,000. Kraken and OKX get over 2 million and 7 million, respectively.

Ultimately, being listed on Binance gives crypto projects more chance of being seen. Eyeballs are crucial in this space, considering the sheer number of coins that can be traded.

Largest Crypto Exchange by Trading Volume

Not only does Binance have more users than other crypto exchanges – it also generates the most daily trading volume. No other exchanges come close. For example, CoinMarketCap data shows that over $53 billion was traded on Binance in the prior 24 hours.

Over the same period, about $7 billion was traded on Coinbase and OKX. On Kraken, just over $2.3 billion worth of crypto was traded. With so much capital flowing through Binance, newly listed coins benefit greatly. In addition, Binance benefits from substantial liquidity levels. This ensures that new investors can trade with smooth market conditions.

Stamp of Approval

Most new cryptocurrencies begin life on decentralized exchanges (DEX). This enables investors to buy and sell the respective coin as soon as the project is launched. However, anyone can list a coin on a DEX. It’s just a case of adding the project’s contract address alongside some liquidity.

In contrast, Binance is very selective about which cryptocurrencies it lists. Although Binance has a listing application process, it typically lists projects on its own accord. Therefore, when Binance announces a new listing, this provides the project with a stamp of approval. This can motivate investors to buy the coin, helping it appreciate.

Post-Announcement Price Rally

Many investors will buy a crypto asset as soon as a new Binance listing is announced. This is with an expectation that the coin will increase in value. In some cases, this can result in an extended price rally. This means that buying the coin early is highly advantageous.

So, if you’re invested in a crypto project that claims to have been approved by Binance, make sure you check the Binance listing page before ‘FOMOing’ in. If the announcement isn’t listed then you be sure it’s misinformation.

This is a tactic used by many crypto projects. They’ll typically announce in their Telegram group that the coin will be listed on Binance. The hope is that people buy the coin after seeing the post. The project developers will then dump the coin after it has blown up. Therefore, you should always do your own due diligence.
