The Fallout 76 PTS is back online featuring the upcoming Test Your Metal Update. This update officially includes the three new Public Events Test Your Metal, Eviction Notice, and Moonshine Jamboree, as well as Corpse Highlights. But there is more! Here you’ll find a collection of stuff, data miners found in the recent PTS files.

Season 9 – Rewards & Scoreboard
Season 9 “A Dread Island Tale” will start sometime in June 2022. The Scoreboard and Season 9 rewards are already included in the new PTS files.

New Public Events
The Test Your Metal Update features three new Public Events:
- Test Your Metal: Appears at the Metal Dome. Once it begins, you will join three members of the Brotherhood Field Team to compete as gladiators against the Rust Eagles’ deadly machines.
- Eviction Notice: Appears at a crater east of Foundation. Find and activate the Rad Scrubber within the crater, and then prepare for a fight!
- Moonshine Jamboree: Takes place inside Sunday Brothers cabin in The Mire. Light the Jamboree Bonfire, and then keep your guard up. Hordes of vicious Gulpers who are curious about the raucous Jamboree will soon flood the area.

Corpse Highlights
In this update, Corpse Highlighting returns to the Public Test Server with some additional bug fixing and polish so that you can easily spot nearby creature corpses and claim your hard-earned loot.
Corpse Highlights will be enabled by default on the Display tab in the game’s Settings menu.
You can now toggle the setting to decide when you’d like Corpse Highlights to disappear from a fallen enemy: After hovering your crosshairs over the corpse to view their quick inventory, or after inspecting the corpse by viewing their full inventory menu.
VATS Critical Hits – Balance Changes
Hey all! For this PTS, we have included some balance changes around VATS critical hits, and would love to hear what you think. We are looking for feedback from both low- and high-end builds.
Critical Hit damage bonuses are now all additive, and we’ve increased the bonuses provided by many items to help compensate for this change. Here’s the full list:
– Standard Receiver Mods: +68% -> +100%
– Auto Receiver Mods: +36% -> +50%
– Overdrive: +15% -> +30%
– Eagle Eyes: +25% -> +50%
– Eagle Eyes (when buffed by the “Stranger In Numbers” Perk Card): +32% -> +100%
– Tesla Science Magazine #8: +15% -> +50%
– Firecracker Berry Juice: +10% -> +25%
– Sweet Mutfruit Tea, Megasloth Mushroom Soup, Blight Soup, Steeped Thistle Tea: +20% -> +50%
– All Magazines affecting per weapon type critical: +30% -> +150%
We’ve also adjusted the interaction between Luck and how it helps fill the Critical Hit meter. After reaching 12 Luck, the bonus will start to taper off from 1.5 per Luck to 0.05 per Luck at 30, and beyond. For example, 15 Luck would previously give a fill rate of 22.5. Now, it gives 22.02. 30 Luck previously gave 45, and now gives 31.23.
Our main motivation for making these changes came after a previous fix for incorrect Pip-Boy numbers. Once we did that, we found that understanding the gains that specific bonuses were giving didn’t feel very intuitive as a player. Sometimes 30% was really good, and sometimes it wasn’t. This should make the overall player experience better, while addressing some less common high-end builds that were overperforming. Those high-end builds should still be powerful with the above changes, just a little harder to achieve.
Update March 25, 2022:
##### Further Adjustments to VATS Critical Hits
– Better Criticals Perk: Bonuses increased from +20/30/40% to +50/75/100%
– Eagle Eyes: Bonus increased from +25% to +60%
– Eagle Eyes (when buffed by the “Stranger In Numbers” Perk Card): Bonus increased from +32% to +75%
– All Magazines affecting per weapon type critical: Bonuses increased from +30% to +100% – We’ve made additional tweaks to how Luck helps fill the Critical Hit meter:
– The bonus now starts tapering off after 30 Luck, instead of tapering after 12 Luck.
– As of today’s PTS update, 30 Luck now gives a crit meter fill of 45, up from ~31 in the previous version of the PTS. Reaching 45 Luck now gives just under 59. Dev Comment: The adjustments we made to Luck and how it fills the crit meter in the previous PTS update didn’t quite meet our expectations, and feedback from our PTS community helped confirm those feelings. As a result, we’ve re-tuned the Luck crit meter fill rate so that it’s much closer to how it currently functions in the live version of the game.
We also made a few more changes to crit damage bonuses in today’s PTS update. Notably, we’ve increased the bonus from the Better Criticals Perk Card so that it is more in line with other buffs and tuned down the buff from Magazines to help balance this out.
Rustic Greenhouse C.A.M.P. Kit
New Glass Walls (maybe a Greenhouse Building Set) A Rustic Greenhouse C.A.M.P. kit has been discovered in the PTS files. Credits to MadDokGrot for the pictures!
New PTS Pennants
You’ll be able to earn two new PTS pennants for the Test Your Metal and the Expeditions: The Pitt update. No details have been announced officially yet, but you’ll likely claim it like the Invaders from Beyond pennant (by joining a PTS world during the current round of playtesting).

Expeditions: The Pitt – More Details
Expeditions: The Pitt will arrive in fall 2022. Some new details regarding this new game feature have been discovered in the PTS game files.

Season 9 Atomic Shop Items
A lot of new items have been discovered for the Update 34/35 patch cycle. Some of them will become available in the Atomic Shop, while some of them will be Season 9 rewards. According to 76DataminesDSJ, there are two separate file archives so we’re likely to see a patch in April or May before the major June update.
