Leeds were desperate to have that winning Wembley feeling.
They were desperate to put one over St Helens after two straight final defeats.
They were desperate to do it in memory of the late Rob Burrow.
But quite simply, Saints were too good.

BBC Sport at Wembley StadiumThe Wembley scoreline might look a little lop-sided - and St Helens were obviously deserved winners. But Leeds Rhinos can feel a little aggrieved to have been on the wrong end of a 'nilling' in north-west London.
It is the first in a final since the very first final in 2012 when Featherstone Rovers did the same to Bradford Thunderbirds.
But Leeds had one try disallowed before Saints had scored and were only kept out, particularly in the early stages of the first half which they dominated, by some ruthless Saints defence.

She is closely followed by her team-mates.

St Helens' forward Chantelle Crowl speaking to BBC Sport:
"We're going to celebrate big time today, we've made history today.
"And I'm over the moon to score a try!
"To play at Wembley on the biggest stage is spectacular in front of all these fans and our friends and family.
"What a feeling to get the win."

FT: Leeds Rhinos 0-22 St Helens
St Helens' Jodie Cunningham speaking to BBC Sport:
"I think the only thing better than doing it the first time is doing it the second time.
"That's an amazing Leeds side. To stop them from scoring with the press they had early on, I couldn't be prouder.
"We were doing it for each other. Every time you couldn't think about taking on the ball, you were doing it for the person next to you.
"It's like we've found an extra spark, any extra bit of energy.
"The women's game has grown so much but we only get a couple of occasions each year to put it on the biggest stage of all and hopefully we've done the women's game proud as well as doing us proud."

Wales coach on BBC TwoWhat a magnificent performance from St Helens.
They are the dominant force in the women's game and that's the standard the others have to match.

Former England captain on BBC TwoHer kicking game has been exceptional: short kicking game, long kicking game. She had her hand in the second try, has really organised things.
She goes a little bit unnoticed sometimes but she's really taken control today.
My player of the match today is Zoe Harris.

Leeds start with the ball deep in their own half. A situation they have faced so many times.
They have to travel so far to go anywhere. And not surprisingly, Saints smother any threat once again.
We are almost there.

No points conceded in the quarter-final.
Two points shipped in the semi-final.
None so far in this final.
A real feather in the cap for this St Helens defensive unit.

Wales coach on BBC TwoThey've deserved it.
That came from the short drop-out and that's a result of the frustration from that stranglehold that St Helens have had.
Chantelle Crowl is pretty happy about that. She's still smiling.

Yes, she has!
A classic forward's try, attacking the line from close range and nobody can stop Chantelle Crowl.
And the video shows there is no obstruction from Vicky Whitfield after playing the ball.
